More power to women

"Obviously, breast cancer is very much out there but cervical cancer isn’t talked about as much because there’s a bit more of a stigma around it. Certainly that’s something I want to make sure that young girls know." – Iskra Lawrence

Gynaecology means specially women’s related diseases. Awareness is nothing but prevention and early diagnosis of the disease. Gynaecological Cancer means Cancer specifically related to Female reproductive system. This cancer start in female reproductive organs ( child birth place) i.e. Cervix , Ovaries , Uterus , vagina , Vulva.Every year September month is celebrated  as a Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month.
We can say every year awareness is reminder for women to inform about annual health check up , requires screening tests regarding health as per age criteria  and to spread knowledge of disease  for early detection and prevention , healthy diet .
We must focus on it with interest as  maximum women are shy by nature ,less expressive, lack of knowledge , totally focused in providing services to family and some are busy in their carriers .In this all busy , stressful life they ignore the self health care. So our aim is to make them more  aware about signs and symptoms  of disease , need to make them well educated about it and  make them comfortable to express problems about them without shame and hesitation .
This knowledge will be helpful for old as well as young women for the future and effective to remove the fear asscociated with gynaecological Cancer.
To make them understand how important the screening tests are for the early diagnosis of Cancer
Women should have knowledge about what is normal or not when it comes to female health .
Any type of vaccination  is useful to prevent disease and screening test to detect disease earlier which will be helpful for effective treatment and positive outcomes.
Pap Smear Test - In India For Cervical Cancer early detection ,Pap smear is a routine screening test for women of age 30 years and above. Should undergo a Pap smear test once in every 3 years until the age of 65 years.
HPV Vaccination to Prevent specially Cervical Cancer and other gynaecological Cancer– Ideal age is11 years to 14 years but can give till age 26years.
( Better to discuss with your Gynaecologist to decide it )
Common alarming symptoms for Gynaecological Cancer
Abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge
Unexplained weight loss
Experience pain during sex
Changes in bathroom habits
Constant fatigue
Loss of appetite or feeling full all the time , bloating
Pain in the pelvis or abdominal area.
Changes in your bathroom habits
Persistent indigestion or nausea.
Change in bowel
Changes in the vulva
Having one or more of these symptoms doesn’t mean you have cancer. But if they last two weeks or more time, see your doctor to get yourself checked out. Doctor will check you clinically and advise to do necessary tests which are needed.
But sometimes  there can be no any symptoms but at least inform your doctor if you feel any changes routinely in your body though its not painful.
Depending on the your past family  and medical history and your symptoms , your doctor will do check up and advise necessary diagnostic tests for diagnosis and better treatment for positive outcomes and reduce the number of deaths in women.
This we can say KNOW YOUR BODY for  prevention , early diagnosis and timely treatment and positive outcomes.
