Following a Healthy Diet & Living a Healthy Life is an Art

A primary demand of the domain of art is proper, precise, and disciplined execution. Art is concerned with all things beautiful and charming. It applies to anything and everything, including living a healthy life. We are all aware of the veracity of the adage, “Health is wealth”. This wealth can only be garnered by adhering to a lifestyle that allows for the enhancement of strength and stamina.

Life, in the contemporary society, is a hectic and tense ordeal. The present society demands a life that adheres to discipline, and a proper routine - proper sleep, ample physical activity, and a balanced diet. A regulated diet helps a person stay internally healthy. This, in turn, augments the capacity to deal with the hectic demands of the external world. Thus, slight modifications in lifestyle and dietary habits can go a long way in the attainment of better mental, physical, and emotional health.

To attain, and maintain, good health, one should be physically active, and exercise daily. This helps in maintaining proper body weight. Another important consideration relates to eating habits. Individuals should inculcate the habit of eating proper meals, at the proper time. The meal should consist of a wide variety of edibles to account for the nutritional demands of the body. The meals should be had in controlled portions - not too less, or too much, at once. One should limit the intake of salt and sugar. Furthermore, consumption of saturated fats should be replaced with MUFA (monounsaturated fatty acid) and PUFA (polyunsaturated fatty acid). The inclusion of fibrous and mineral-rich food, in the form of seasonal fruits and vegetables, should be afforded serious consideration. Detrimental habits such as smoking and drinking should be avoided as much as possible. Other necessary considerations include drinking plenty of water, taking six to eight hours of sound sleep, maintaining proper blood pressure, reducing the time spent sitting (even the time spent sitting in front of a screen), and finally, keeping oneself happy and productively occupied.

The modifications mentioned above are not extreme, or hard to implement. What they require is an aware and planned execution of daily activities. The daily routine, as well as dietary habits, should be adhered to in a proper, precise, and disciplined way - just like an art. Such an approach can ensure a healthy and happy life for the individual.
