BALANCED DIET HELPS TO MAKE A HEALTHIER WORLD

A “Balanced Diet” means your body gets all the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals it needs to work its best…

A healthy diet gives you energy, supports your mood, maintains your weight, and keeps you looking your best and is important for overall health and can help you prevent and control many diseases such as diabetes, cancer, heart diseases.

• Follow a balanced diet and eat fewer calories by cutting down on portions size in your diet.

• Include whole-grain cereals such as wheat, oats, ragi, jowar, brown rice and whole pulses and legumes.

• Emphasize fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products and avoid full-fat dairy products

• Do not skip meals or starve yourself; include 4-5 “mini-meals” may help to satisfy your hunger while keeping your weight under control

• Include Fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet to get your dose of fibre, vitamins and minerals.

• Include antioxidants by adding green leafy vegetables, different coloured fruits and vegetables in the diet such as papaya, beetroot, apple, pumpkin, carrots, citrus fruits, amla etc

• Reduce the intake of salt (sodium), and added sugars.

• Many foods contain beneficial compounds that could help decrease the growth of cancer. EAT HEALTHY!!!! PREVENT CANCER. Reduce your risk for cancer by improving your diet. You have the power to change your eating habits.

• Start by reducing dietary fat intake, especially animal fat. Make your diet rich in plant foods include vegetables, whole grains, legumes (lentils, beans and peas), nuts, and seeds. These foods provide vitamins, minerals, and other plant compounds that have cancer-protective effects. They also provide fibre, which protects against cancer.

The five food groups should be included daily in our diet to get a Balanced Diet....

Cancer is treatable and beatable…together we can...creating awareness amongst the public is the need of the hour…let us save our world from CANCER.
