Ancient Ayurveda : An alternate cancer treatment

Ayurveda, as a traditional system of medicine, originated in India more than five thousand years ago. It literally translates to the science of life.

The word Ayurveda is composed of two Sanskrit terms – Ayur (meaning life) and Veda (meaning knowledge). Owing to the fact that its roots are ancient, we have termed it as Ancient Ayurveda. It is concerned with the prevention of diseases, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, enhancing immunity such as to make the body stronger to fight against possible infections, and the cure (or control) of existent diseases with special emphasis on their root causes. Ayurveda holds that health and fitness are dependent upon the balance between Mind, body, and spirit. The primary concepts in Ayurveda include following a nutritious diet, Dinacharya (daily regimes), Ritucharya (seasonal regimes), and an adherence to herbal supplements and alternatives. Ayurvedic treatment takes into consideration the root cause of the disease, the psychosomatic constitution of the concerned individual (prakruti), and also the relevant tridoshas, dhatus, and the strotas. Given the fact that Ayurvedic therapies do not induce harmful side effects, Ayurveda has slowly garnered global credibility. Ayurveda is now considered to be a viable mode of treatment for a diverse range of diseases.

When we think about Cancer, it has been alarmingly common in the present era. Globally, it is the second most recurring cause of death. With advances in the field of research, there has been an increase in the modes of treatment available for Cancer.

Along with modern allopathic treatments like Chemotherapy, Radiation therapy, surgery, and the like, there now exist alternate Cancer treatments like Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani. The latter modes of treatment can also make a credible claim to efficacy.

Ayurveda, as an alternate Cancer treatment, has emerged as an efficient mode of treatment with positive results.

As per the shloka, Ayurveda is concerned with maintaining the health of an individual. For an individual suffering from a disease, or other possible health issues, Ayurveda is concerned with curing the same, or effecting a control. Both these scenarios are dependent upon enhancing the immunity of the individual to fight against diseases. This is the primary factor.

The second important factor is to concentrate on the root cause, and increase digestive fire, because

Vata, pitta, and Kapha, as the tridoshas, constitute a basic tenet of Ayurveda. Balance between the three is essential for the normal functioning of the body. A malignant condition arises in the absence of balance between the three. Loss of mutual coordination amongst the tridoshas results in tissue damage, subsequently leading to a critical condition. Imbalance in the tridoshas cause excessive metabolic crisis resulting in proliferation.

These factors play a crucial role in enhancing the metabolism of the body through possible Ayurvedic treatments. Owing to its viability as an effective cancer treatment, Ayurveda can be considered as a mode of alternate Cancer treatment.

After arduous research at DS Research Centre, we provide Ayurvedic treatment as a mode of alternate cancer treatment under the name “an ancient cancer treatment”. The primary concept here is “to correct the Deviation of Metabolism”. Our body is constituted of trillions of cells. The function of cells is multiplication, division, and replacement of dead or damaged cells with new cells. The functionality of the cells constitute body metabolism.

Cancer is a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a specific part of the body. In such a scenario, the metabolism has deviated from what is natural. Subsequently, the Cancer starts to grow and spread in the body.

Here, Ayurveda, as an alternate Cancer treatment, concentrates on rectifying the deviation of metabolism as the root cause of the Cancer, to re-establish the normal functionality of the cells.

Tumour is the by-product of abnormal cells. Actual Cancer is a root cause as it results from a deviation of metabolism. This is where Ancient Ayurveda as an alternate Cancer treatment lays a claim to efficiency.

The herbs used in Ayurveda possess great potential to fight against diseases. Scientifically, these formulations work on multiple biochemical pathways, and influence different organ systems synergistically, nourishing the body as a whole by supporting, and enhancing, the body’s defence system. Herbal administrations help in healing whilst concurrently minimising side effects and cancer related complications.

We consider Ayurveda to be an effective alternate Cancer treatment owing to the fact that it focuses on the root or primary cause, improves the quality of life, nourishes the body, and helps in the maintenance of a positive existence. Furthermore, the treatment does not induce harmful side effects and the medications are naturally derived and beneficial for the body, even in the long run.
