World Health Day : Our Planet, Our Health-All people, both collectively and individually, can contribute to reducing the cancer burden.

Modifiable lifestyle disorders are the most important factor to increase the risk of cancer. 

7th April is celebrated as World Health Day. In the present scenario, the whole world is facing a serious health hazard, Covid 19 pandemic. It becomes a headache for humanity. But we have to understand that Cancer is more fatal and the mortality rate of cancer is higher in India than any other disease, and it's increasing day by day. Presenting you some points related to a healthy lifestyle and body to prevent Cancer and many other diseases for a disease free world.

1. Use of Tobacco

It has been linked to various types of cancers. 70% of cancer in India is linked with tobacco. Lung, oral cancers are very common due to use of tobacco in various forms. Carcinogens present in tobacco products can weaken the body’s immune system making it harder to kill cancer cells.

2. Eating healthy Diets

Vegetables, fruits and whole grains are very essential for a healthy body. Limit sugars and solid fats along with red and processed meat. Fast foods, junk foods and processed foods contain preservatives which can trigger cancer. Regular alcohol consumption may lead to various types of liver diseases along with liver cancer.

3. Maintaining weight

Obesity is the main cause of different diseases along with different types of cancers. Maintaining weight by taking a balanced diet along with physical exercise will be very beneficial for fighting against any disease. Fatty liver is one of the causes of liver cancer. Maintaining weight can also prevent deposition of fat in the liver.

4. Being Physically Active

Regular exercise will increase the secretion of endorphins which is responsible to build a healthy immune system thus preventing different disease formation in the body. Doing yoga on a regular basis will strengthen the immune system as well as mental health.

5. Vaccinations

Hepatitis B vaccination is essential to everyone, as liver cancer will be more fatal if hepatitis B virus attacks. It will severely damage the immune system of the body. Presently Covid19 vaccination is also an important factor.

6. Regular Medical screening 

Health checkups at regular intervals are very necessary after 40 yrs of age as regular screening can detect any abnormal function in the body quickly and one can get medical attention promptly.

7. Leading Safe Life

Always avoid multiple sexual activities with different partners. These may lead to several types of disease along with cancer. Maintain a healthy sexual life.

At present we are in an ongoing pandemic, i.e. Covid19. Always maintain covid protocols as coronavirus will severely weaken the immune system of our body.
