"Quality of life" the most important priority in cancer treatment

We often find that to boost self-benefit and to raise false hope many documents are spreading in the name of Ayurveda.

But we are from the organisation working as the pioneer cancer care clinic chain in the AYUSH sector for the last few decades.

So apart from giving medicines to our patients and delivering counseling to them, I believe it is necessary to clarify our stand, which is strongly built upon the logic of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is not only a 5000 years old science, it is a living science. Every science started with a few theories, hypothesis, and rules which result in different calculations. Ayurveda also has many texts, many theories many rules but all such attributes result in the benefit only for life. So it is the Science of Life, elaborately different

aspects of life like

Advantageous life

Disadvantageous life

Happy stage of life

Unhappy stage of life

All explanations are included in Ayurveda.

But what is life or Ayu?

Ayu of life is a combination of Shareer or body, Indriya or sense organs, Satwa or mind, and Atma or soul.

In the course of life, your body may enter in any kind of degeneration May be your sense organ fails but if you strengthen the others means your mind your soul … you definitely can be happy.

You may have heard the story of a Lame man and a Blind man. Once there was a lame man. He could not walk. He had no crutches; he had nothing at his disposal. And there was a blind man. Both wanted to go to the same village. They started talking to each other “Is there a way? We both have the same destination.” And after discussion, they found a way. The lame man climbed onto the shoulders of the blind man and guided him to their common destination.

So the power of thought and the power of emotion should be combined to achieve an integrated way of life.

Now virtually all our actions are controlled by our thoughts, and all our thoughts are controlled by emotions. As the whole world is action centric, so actually your emotions are the driving force for your quality of life, even with or after cancer.

You often be in a situation when you find that all your energies are just drained out through one single emotion, which disturbed your balance in every means.

So, for a better quality of life, it is most important to control your emotions.

Actually, emotions come from urges. Urges are described as “Vegas” in Ayurveda. Charaka has described two types of “Vegas”

Dharaniya (Suppressible)

Adharaniya( Non- Suppressible)

The Adharaniya vegas are those which should not be suppressed.

Suppressing them will cause diseases. Whereas dharaniya vegas are

those urges which are to be suppressed for maintain good health.

Charaka has explained 9 main emotions which are to be suppressed

Lobha (Greed)

Shoka (Feeling of sadness due to loss of temporary things)

Bhaya (Fear)

Kama (Excessive desire)

Krodha (Anger)

Moha (Excessive attachment)

Mada (Pride)

Matsarya( Envy)

Irsha ( Possesive nature)

Dvesha (Ill feeling)

He or she who is desirous of happiness and healthy quality of life should gain control over the 9 above mentioned suppressible urges. The control over them leads to character building. All 9 suppressible urges are interrelated.

For instance is a person over desirous or desperate of obtaining something and fails to get, it leads to anger. Anger leads to heartedness, ill feeling to envy and so on.
