Now, let’s talk about a brain tumour, the terminology gets special importance during the month of June as the 8 th June is celebrated as the World Brain Tumour day every year. However in my opinion not only for a particular month, the subject needs to be discussed throughout the year as brain tumour turns to be an emerging cause of cancer related mortality and morbidity among the human population nowadays. The current write up is all about brain tumour, its present scenario, its influence on human health, early diagnosis and a path towards the cure of brain tumour.
Epidemiology of Brain Tumour
In general, the yearly incidence of all brain tumour is 7 for every 1,00,000 people. In India, near about 2,50,000 people are affected with brain tumour every year.
Normal function of brain in our body
Before going to the abnormal, lets discuss about the normal brain functioning in our body and here these are
-Normal movement and walking
-Directs the senses like eyesight, hearing, taste, touch, smell and normal speech
-Memory, concentration, emotions and maintains our personality
-The things we do without thinking like breathing is also regulated by our brain
Brain tumour and its types
Brain tumour is also called intracranial neoplasm which occurs due to the abnormal and excessive growth of brain tissues.
It is broadly divided into two types ie. Benign or non cancerous brain tumour and Malignant or cancerous brain tumour.
Malignant brain tumours may be Primary brain tumour( ie. 1 st origin is in brain)or Secondary brain tumour depending upon their metastasis from other parts of body.
Neuroma, meningioma, chordoma etc. are the types of benign tumours and glioma, medulloblastoma etc. are the different types of malignant brain tumour.
Symptoms of Brain tumour
Symptoms may vary depending upon tumour, size, type and location in the brain.

-Brain injury or trauma
Diagnostic procedures
-Physical Examination/Neurological examination and Medical history
-CT Scan
-MRI
-PET CT scan
-CSF analysis
-Biopsy
Available treatment options
Treatment option depends on type, location and size of brain tumour
-Surgery
-Radiotherapy
-Chemotherapy
-Immunotherapy
-Targeted therapy
-Alternative Ayurvedic Treatment
Currently D.S. Research Centre is treating a number of brain cancer patients with effective results and patients are observed recovering with stability over the disease process and improved quality of life.
The way to cure towards brain tumour (specially the cancerous ones) mostly depend upon the following criteria-
-screening of high risk individuals
-symptom detection
-early diagnosis
-timely management with proper therapeutic intervention.
Role of Nutrient Energy Treatment in brain tumour patients
-We, the DSRC Team always believe that cancer is very much treatable if proper and timely application of cancer management and Nutrient Energy treatment is applied to the patient for the long term with hope and a positive attitude.
-As the risks of conventional treatment can never be ignored, Nutrient Energy Treatment helps in attaining the best outcome, longest survival, and the highest quality of life.
-As no two cancer patients are the same, even though sharing the same cancer diagnosis, adopting a customized and comprehensive effort in the form of Nutrient Energy Treatment, control for months or even for years is possible even in the most chronic and recurrent form of cancer.
